The Adolescent Thriving Collaborative partners with schools, school districts, organizations, and youth-serving systems to create environments where young people can flourish. Drawing on the field of Interpersonal Neurobiology and grounded in the latest research on adolescent development, our consulting services help leaders and organizations design, implement, and sustain ways of working that truly support the mental health, well-being, and development of the young people in their care.
Young people don’t develop in isolation—they live and learn within ecosystems that include families, schools, community organizations, and the natural, socioeconomic, political, and cultural environments that surround them. From an interpersonal neurobiology perspective, these ecosystems function optimally when their parts are both honored for their distinctness and linked so they can work dynamically together in service of young people. Integration—honoring differences while creating connections—is how systems become more than the sum of their parts.
We work with leaders and teams across youth-serving systems to identify, map, and strengthen the connections within young people’s ecosystems. This allows information to flow across systems, enables adults to know young people holistically, and ensures every young person has access to integrated, developmentally appropriate, culturally affirming, healing-centered supports.
Our approach prioritizes the learning and well-being of adults because adults must be well to support young people effectively. One of the most robust predictors of youth well-being is access to caring, attuned, and regulated adults. When adults understand adolescent brain development, recognize how trauma impacts adults and young people, and know the research-based conditions that support thriving, they become powerful agents of healing and growth.
Our consulting honors the whole person. We create space for adults to learn, collaborate, and heal while helping leaders build the organizational conditions that allow adults to show up fully for the young people they serve.
Teachers, school counselors, youth workers, and caregivers carry an enormous responsibility. They navigate complex student needs, systemic pressures, and often their own experiences of unresolved trauma, stress and burnout. Our consulting recognizes that supporting adolescents begins with supporting the adults in their lives.
We create conditions for educators and youth-serving professionals to:
When schools and organizations invest in adult well-being, everyone benefits. Adults who feel supported, resourced, and whole are better equipped to create the responsive, attuned relationships that adolescents need to thrive.
